PHILADELPHIA- The Drexel men’s tennis team ended its run at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Northeast Regional tournament on Saturday afternoon.
Xandy Hammitt and Alan Jesudason participated in the main singles draw on day three of six. Hammitt was defeated by Kaya Gore of Fairfield, 6-3, 7-5. Jesudason ended his first trip to the ITA tournament with a loss to the tournament’s top-seeded player, Max Westphal of Columbia. Westphal defeated Jesudason with a pair of 6-4 sets.
In doubles play, Matvey Radionov and Hammitt were defeated by a duo from Buffalo by a score of 8-3.
“I think we played well at the ITA Regionals,” head coach Mehdi Rhazali said. “The mindset and tactics that we showed this weekend align with the philosophy and goals that we are building for the spring season.”
The Drexel men’s tennis team returns to the Vidas tennis courts and hosts the Dragon Invitational, beginning on Saturday, October 30.
