The Fault in Our Stars Movie Review

Based on a bestseller by John Green, the fault in our stars tells the story of two young cancer patients who fall in love. Starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, the film is an earnest tale of death that offers a glimpse into the reality of life when it’s cut short.

The Story

Based on John Green’s bestselling book, the fault in our stars, it follows the story of teenager Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley), who has stage-four metastatic cancer that has spread to her lungs. Her parents (Laura Dern and Sam Trammell) encourage her to attend a support group for teens with cancer.

While the movie does not follow the book strictly, it does an excellent job of capturing its characters’ personalities and feelings. The cast also includes Divergent star Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters, whom Hazel meets at the group and develops friendships with.

A surprisingly strong film, the fault in our stars is a heart-wrenching tale of two young teens who find love while fighting a disease that could take their lives. The story is not as bleak as it might appear, thanks to director Josh Boone’s careful adherence to the book and screenwriter Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber’s unhurried, amiable approach to the tale.

The Cast

Based on the 2012 young adult novel of the same name, The Fault in Our Stars is a tear-jerking love story about two teens who struggle with cancer. This film, directed by Josh Boone, is a must-see for any young adult fan or anyone affected by cancer.

The movie stars Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster, who has stage-four metastatic cancer that has spread to her lungs. Her parents (Laura Dern and Sam Trammell) encourage her to attend a support group for young people with cancer.

She meets Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), a fellow cancer patient who can’t keep his eyes off her, and they fall in love. The pair meet Isaac (Nat Wolff) and Peter van Houten (Willem Dafoe), who have also been fighting cancer, at the group’s dinner party.

The cast also includes Lotte Verbeek as Lidewij Vliegenthart, a Dutch doctor involved in a rather morbid conversation about “oblivion,” and Mike Birbiglia as Patrick, one of the characters’ best friends.

The Director

Josh Boone is the director of The Fault in Our Stars, a coming-of-age romance based on John Green’s 2012 bestselling novel. The film stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, with Laura Dern, Sam Trammell, Nat Wolff, and Willem Dafoe in supporting roles.

A teen cancer patient with a life-threatening condition, Hazel (Woodley) meets Augustus “Gus” Waters (Elgort) at her local support group. Even though Gus’ leg is missing and he lives in a wheelchair, they fall in love.

Throughout the movie, Gus and Hazel’s relationship takes on an incredible sense of wonder. Their acerbic wit, disdain for conventionality, and love sweeps them on a journey.

The Rating

‘The Fault in Our Stars’ was written by John Green and published in 2012. It is a viral story that reflects a lot of the emotions that teenagers go through.

It is a very realistic novel that shows how life can be difficult even when it seems like there is nothing to complain about. The story also focuses on love and death.

The movie is based on the book and has received very positive reviews. It is a very moving and emotional movie that will make you cry and laugh simultaneously.

The film is rated PG-13, and it does contain some language. It also has some sexual references.
